MCE Annual Report

MCE Social Capital is a nonprofit impact investing firm that unlocks capital to empower families living in poverty to build a better future. I was tasked with refreshing their annual impact report, aiming to make their data-heavy content more engaging and accessible.

To elevate the design, I implemented a high-contrast serif typeface to make key figures pop. I moved away from muted tints and drab neutrals, opting instead for a vibrant, full-saturation brand palette set against a crisp navy, allowing the brand colors to truly stand out.

Recognizing that their rich photography was previously getting lost under heavy overlays, I shifted to a cleaner layout, balancing full-saturation color blocks with purposeful imagery. Finally, I replaced a previous, restrictive 60-degree angle design motif with a circular design language, which better accommodates complex infographics and improves visual hierarchy.
